There are so many Christmas market popups in London this time of year but Winter Wonderland and Southbank Winter Market will always be the main ones.

Southbank Winter Market is a lot smaller than Winter Wonderland with less of a focus on rides and more of a focus on both free and paid performances.

There’s not a great choice of food stalls to choose from and what is there is really quite expensive for what you get.

We tried mac and cheese with cray fish, the duck confit burger and pad thai. The mac and cheese was really quite bland and the other dishes just so so.

There are an abundance of street performers along south bank from bubble man to break dancers.

It can be a lot less crowded than Winter Wonderland which is good for the dogs.

But the main reason to visit Southbank Winter Market is to take in the beautiful London sights from the London Eye to Tower Bridge.
